Kareena Kapoor in Khushi

Khushi is the Hindi film released in 2003. It is written by Surya S.J. and directed by him and Sunil Kumar Agrawal. It is a family drama with light romance as two youngsters are headed to Mumbai University for higher studies. Karan is the boy from Calcutta and Khushi is the girl from a small village. The story bears the title as of heroine name Khushi and basically intended to show thoughts of families about girls, her prospects, future plans of parents to get her married at the suitable age. The story narrates an authentic environment because we can find and relate this story easily with ourselves or the people around us.

The real life situation in the movie increases its authenticity and chances of likeness as well. All the characters perform well but there is no comparison of Khushi and Karan. Khushi (Kareena Kappor) is the loving singleton daughter who is the dearest child to her father than mother. However rest of the family members also love her because she is the only girl in the family who is graduated. Now father (Amresh Puri) demands her to fulfill his wish as she vows that after completing her studies she will get married. But she wishes to get higher studies at university level.

Another sub plot of the movie is destiny which God already has decided and in this movie it is Khushi marriage with Karan. The story is based on several coincidences as how God plans to bring two distant characters bring together to get them married. Both are the students of previous class and egocentric. After several meeting both find harmony among themselves yet ignore completely.

Kareena in the role of Khushi performs brilliantly. Character suits her and she depicts the nature quite close to the script girl. She beautifully portrays an eastern girl who is fully aware of family values and tradition and doest not gets astray. Her dressing, her softness and fondling behavior with her father and contrarily rude behavior with a strange boy brings us home. Karan as opposite is quite charming and ravishing personality hard to oppose.
