HULCHUL is a Hindi film released in 2004. It is written by Siddique and Neera Vora while directed by Priyadarshan. Hulchul is a full time entertainment movie with the serious tone of long term family rivalry. Cast of the film is impressive and sure to fetch the success. Priyadarshan is wise enough to chose such a talented cast for making pure entertainment movie. All the characters like Akshay Khanna, Sunil Shetty, Presh Rawal, Jackie Sharoff are competent to give excellent performance. Amresh Puri plays the best like agar Chand as all the time till the last moment he is like a fiery dinosaur.
They film begins with the name plate carved on the gate with the caution: ‘Women are prohibited’. The house in which Angar Chand (Amresh Puri) is living with his four sons who know the philosophy of their father and vow to keep it on. It is when his last son Jai A. Chand (Akshay Khanna) gets admission and interact with Anjali. The moment before Jai makes fun of Anjali’s broken engagement and Anjali’s crying in her Grandmother’s lap. She sketch a plan to deceive Jai by capturing him in his fake love and when she shows her amorous emotions to Jai, Jai jerks over his heels. Soon he accepts her love with the same revenge purpose and the love game begins.
Kareena plays lover role beautifully same with Akshay sure to fall in love in reality. Kareena seems bewitching lady to entice a man to lose heart in any case. Her behavior as a daughter, as a lover and avenger all are convincing. We really enjoy when she starts acting as a lover / avenger and showing faces as this is very difficult, then she becomes prey to the Jai’s beautiful nature as a man and lose her heart we once again convinced. She is really a treat in Hulchul and clatter the water with fresh splash of her youth, beauty and style.
