“Darna Zaroori Hai” is a Hindi movie released in 2006. It is a multi-writers and multi-directors film. It is written by five writers Prawal Raman, Arshad Sayed, Ashish Deo, Manish Gupta and Sajid Khan while directed by seven directors J.D.Chakravarthi, Manish Gupta, Sajid Khan, Jijy Philip, Prawal Raman, Vivek Shah and Ram Gopal Varma. Unlike Darna Mana Hai, this film has the quality that if there are different stories then there are different directors. This creates a clear cut difference between different stories and we clearly differentiate among six stories. It removes the monotony.
The weak point of movie is its script. Stories are not horrible to the extent to make it compulsory for the audience to get afraid. If Darna Zaroori Hai is for creating horror then it would be necessary to come up with solid script. However for some persons with little heart must be prepared while going to watch it. The factors like situations, make-up, costumes, environment and haunting voices are there to make you restless and even afraid of something unusual and horrible. Let ready to be afraid if you don’t have the taste for horror movies as I am going to narrate some parts out of it.
Start is quite arresting by placing the story of Amitabh Bachchan at number one. It increases the importance of film because the legendary hero is there. Here Amitabh is performing the role of Hallucinating Professor haunted by the presence of an evil soul. His student Ritesh Deshmukh denies him and one day in the mirror both of them confront the spirit and gasp with astonishment!!!
Second is about female Hitchhiker Malika Sherawat who takes a ride from a rider Anil Kapoor a famous writer and director. During their journey both talk about their plans as Anil Kapoor wants to write a horror movie instead of traditional themes and Malika Sherawat wants to be an actress. The story whirls both audience and Anil Kapoor when Sherawat tells her true identity being a ghost!!!
The third one has a proverbial theme as not to deny the advice of elder. Here Manoj Pahwa goes to watch the film from the route from where his mother forbids him. When he reaches near the graveyard due to unseen fear his heart failed!!!
Fourth is about the Insurance Salesman Rajpal Yadav, a thief in disguise to rob Suni Shetty and Sonali Kulkarni (Mr. & Mrs. Pilgaonkar). The couple who is going to make love falls in unexpected circumstances. After wasting sometime to convince them for the insurance policy he simply takes out revolver and Shoot!!!
Fifth Story is about Arjun Rampal who knocks on the door asking for phone call. He needs to call a mechanic for the car. But freakish couple Bipasha and Makrand tries to make him freakish too and call a spirit which then refuses to return. Do all of them become the prey of spirit’s rage???
Sixth story is about the murdered woman’s mother-in-law Rasika Joshi. The murder, the case investigation, the discovery of a corpse, skeleton’s in the closet all the things are enough to make you feel jittery!!!
Seventh story is about a haunted house in which an old woman storyteller sitting and surrounded by number of children. It really makes us shocked when we find out that all are already dead!!!
Characters are properly put in place and hence perform their best. Malika Sherawat is a bewitching beauty can compel easily to opposite. Arjun Rampal, Rampal Yadav, Retish and legendary Amitabh give impressive appearance. Anil Kapoor holds the attention when we find him dead. His expressions are so natural that makes us stunned as well. We also feel a spirit with us and fright. Anil Kapoor is a talented artist and this get up is usual and easygoing for him. This is surely a good addition in his acting profile.
