Chup Chup Ke is a Hindi movie released in 2006. It is written and directed by Priyadarshan. The film is comedy-drama with mature ending. However it is not melodramatic thing. You will find an unstoppable entertainment throughout the film which creates a demand to compensate it with logic and sobriety. Priyadarshan proves his skill in the genre of comedy once again and the end of the movie compels us to stand and heartily applaud for him.
The characters in the film are like rainbow. All the colors of rainbow are present like daring Mangal Singh Chauhan (Sunil Shetty), ridiculous Bandya (Rajpal Yadav), cheat Gundya (Paresh Rawal), beloved Shruti (Kareena Kapoor), Pretty Meenakshi (Neha Dhupia), desperate Jettu (Shahid Kapoor) and sober Prabhat Singh Chauhan (Om Puri). All the colours create such harmony to make a beautiful piece of art on earth.
The story is about a boy Jeetu who is failed to earn livelihood for his family after the retirement of his father. Furthermore, he is indebted to many people in village. He is a boy with no scope in life. After losing hope and fed up from his father reproaching, he attempts to commit suicide but escapes by the fisherman to the other side of river. Now he is away from his home and free from the miseries. Here he assumes a fake identity of special person unable to speak and Gundya trades him in return to his own debt to Prabhat Sigh.
Prabhat Singh house is a palace with so many stories hide in it. Chup Chup Ke is the interpretation of these stories spread inside and outside the house. Prabhat Singh daughter Shruti is also a special person. Her cousin and friend Meenakshi is in love with her brother Mangal. Mangal is a haughty guy give no importance to love and care and proves a hard nut for Meenakshi. Shruti falls in love with Jeetu but Jeetu is impersonal. The truth is that he leaves his betrothal to his parents’ home. His aim is to hit-and-run with huge amount from Prabhat house.
Meenakshi offers him big amount if he plays the role of Shruti not knowing that Shruti already has soft corner for him. Here story takes twist and love stories begin at two levels. The main plot is of Shruti and Jeetu while sub plot is of Meenakshi and Mangal. And pause comes when Jeetu family knows about his being alive. Now jeetu is like a rolling stone gather no mass. He is a person who has no zero intellectual. Priyadarshan presents a classic out chaos. Where there is no story at all instead of everything is happening in the veil of comedy Priyadarshan ji chup chup ke apna kaam dika gaey or kamal dikha gaey.
Shahid Kapoor role as a comedian is excellent. He seems natural to the role. Kareena kapoor has speaking eyes if she is unable to speak. Her performance is brilliant and gives histrionic show without speaking a single dialogue.
