Kareena Kapoor in FIDA

Fida is a Hindi movie released in 2004. It is written by Lalit Mahajan and Sunny Mahajan while directed by Ken Ghosh. The story is quite different from the routine love stories of Bollywood. It is a story of a boy who loves passionately with a girl that even ready to lay down his life for her. He is ‘Fida’ on that girl but tragedy lies here as girl doesn’t care for his love. Her betrayal causes him to take her life away instead.

The start is very thrilling as Vikram Singh (Fardeen Khan) is transacting huge sum of 6 crore into his own account. It reminds us English thriller and we appreciate the usage of update technology in Hindi film an act of robbery though. Soon after, the scene changes totally towards the love story of Shahid and Kareena and we nearly oblivion the act of robbery during crazy attempts of suicide by Jai Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor) and Neeha Malhotra (Kareena) respectively. The interval thrills us once again when Kareena tells the reason of her suicide and subsequently demands 6 crore or either Jai has to lose his love. Jai is infatuated to do everything for his love and ready to go to jail when Vikram offers to give him such a big amount when he will accept a robbery in front of police. Jai being an ignorant does not know that he is a scapegoat in the hands of both who he trusts.

Here once again Kareena is demanding from her lover for ‘Jeena sirf merey liey’. Rather it is better to say that now Kareena is demanding ‘Merna sirf merey liey’ and she arouses unreasoning love or passion in Jai and cause him to behave in an irrational way as he goes into jail for her. Later Vikram and Neha game exposed in the eyes of Jai and he kills Neha to taught a lesson to Vikram that love is not such a thing to let in hands of other for little cause of earning money. Kareena is excellent in her role of Neha. She is so perfect an actress that we remain unaware about her treachery till we see her with Vikram the same way she was behaving with Jai. We really admire her performance in love scenes, THRILL scenes when she is ready to commit suicide and FEAR on incoming anonymuous calls believe to be of Jai and CHILL when Jai targets her forehead. She is great in expressions. The film is not a success on Bollywood Box Office yet we can’t help admiring her acting.
