Aishwarya Rai in Shakti

Shakti is a Hindi movie released in the year 2000. This is the last film of that year in which Aishwarya once again appear as a guest artist in the song ‘Ishq Kamina as Aishwarya herself. Shakti which has a subtitle as The Power is written by Karishna Vamshi and Kamal Pandey while directed by Krishna Vamshi. It depicts the story of a couple blessed with a son who has to suffer their fate. The film portrays two different worlds with extreme situations and conditions. One at the verge of ignorance and illiteracy and other is at it glorious height.

Aishwarya Rai in ShaktiThis movie tells about a fratricide aspect how different cultures causes penalty to their dear ones. It is also makes clear that without education man is not more than a brutal. He acts and behaves like animals and shows no affections to their neighbors and other families. They love only to their sibling and shows a kind of possession on them. They are not ready to share them with outer world.

Same is the story of Shekhar to whom his brother loves so much that on his demand he allows him to go abroad for better living. But for his ailing mother he has to return with his wife (Nndini) and cute son (Raja). Narsimha is the elder brother of Shekhar and does not like Nandini but loves nephew Raja. The family has a tussle with another family and Shekar has been killed by their opponent. Nandini got hysteric but for the sake of her son she compose herself and asked Narsimha to let her go back to Canada which he rejected. Nandini goes to the last extent to secure her son’s future and succeeds to get approval of Narsimha.

Aishwarya Rai in ShaktiKarishma Kapoor in the role of Nandini is perfect and gives ample expression according to the situations. Sanjay Kapoor as a Shekhar proves a right choice and Nana Patekar goes excellent with his role. All the characters do justice with their role and give a quality entertainment to the audience. Even Aishwarya’s guest appearance enhances the beauty of film. Songs are also there to balance the atmosphere of film so that brutal action should not repel the audience. On the whole Shakti truly depicts the power of different things in the movie as shakti of rural system, shakti of love and at the end shakti of mother to save her children. In all form shakti is there in positive or negative way.
