Guru is a Hindi film released in 2007. It is recognized for excellent character delineation and plot of the movie. It is written and directed by Mani Ratnam a director worth to be admired for movie making. Guru is an extra ordinary achievement on his part.
Guru is mainly a one man show as story revolves around Gurukant Desai (Abhishek) who is ambitious to earn money by hook or crook. It is his passionless struggle that enables him to establish factory after factory with the help of common people’s share in it. He started his business after marrying a girl whose father announces that who will marry will be given money. With a wife and less money Guru landed on the plain of Turkey. He flourishes day by day as he has a brilliant mind to climb on the ladder of success. The part of this ladder has been selected by Guru himself since his wife’s brother Jignesh then he met Mani Gupta. Later on he makes the ladder by adding his trusted personnel Rajendra Gupta.After attaining the climax position suddenly a totally change scenario comes in the form of anticlimax. The steps of the ladder by using which he has reached to a height are now taking away one by one. A journalist first of all inspect guru’s factory and then publish whatever corruption he has seen. Factory ceases to make production. Guru call for prosecution in a court for removing the alleges impose on him. He got his one side paralyzed and takes his wife Aishwarya to the court to convey his point of view and eventually he wins.
Side by side is the story of Vidya Balan is also continued who is a special child and after seeing her with journalist Guru stops himself by harming him any way. Very few songs are there to enjoy the serious struggle of Guru.
