Aishwarya Rai in Albela

Albela released in 2001 is the only film in which Aishwarya performed. Writen by Honey Irani and directed by Deepak Sareen is a total failure. If in any case the name of this film occasionally comes into one’s mind it is so due to Aishwarya presence in the film.

 

Title of the film is in fact the name of hero of the film who is a tourist guide in Goa. The story is a tragic comedy genre. Heroine Sonia (Aishwarya) arrives in Goa to finds her mother’s grave. She is portrayed as a beautiful rich girl and is seen in beautiful outfits and makeup. She is the only item who is responsible to attract countable audience for watching this movie. Govinda in the get up of Albela, a poor guy, working as a tourist guide is foreseen by a baba that a light colored eyes girl will come in his life. The story develops in the form of their visit to the well known beautiful places of Goa. This thing although increases the beauty of film but distraction from the original story as finding of Sonia mother makes the movie weak.

 

Unnecessarily exaggerated acting and dialogues of Tony (Govinda) bore the spectators to the maximum extent. And sudden appearance of Prem (Jackie Sharrof) not only shocked Sonia Aishwarya but also the audience as how long they have to bear this boredom. Aishwarya has no match with either of the possible option present in the movie. And the development in the role of Nina (Namrata Shirodkar) is so appalling that whole interest in the movie once again drop.

Thinking about music it again comes nowhere but anger as songs just for the sake of Indian movie. Not even a single song is capable or luring the mind or heart. We can say that movie is considered a movie because Miss World (Aishwarya) has performed in it.
