Karishma Kapoor in Merey Jeevan Saathi

Merey Jeevan Saathi is an Indian movie released in 2006. It is written and directed by Suneel Darshan. The story is based on an exhaustive theme of love triangle. However, now this has become so common in real life that the topic seems authentic and is square-built. Apparently a very loving husband has a patchy past or a seemingly faithful wife has a hidden relationship. Whatever the reasons these things really exist and one cannot deny the fact and same case is with Merey Jeevan Saathi. The theme of the film is solid we cannot reject it as an outdated movie.

The issue in this film is that yet no one is married in this love triangle only commitments are there even then the name is given as Jeevan Saathi. Still selection has to bear a court stamp or a legitimate paper to be signed as asserting the other person as Merey Jeevan Saathi. How a person could call her lover or his lover as merey jeevan saathi if he or she is not yet married to him / her. The object could be raised on the title of the movie. By seeing the title interpretations get wrong as the concept of a married life comes in mind while the movie circle round the matter who would be the real jeevan saathi of Vicky; Natasha or Anjali???

Vicky (Akshay Kumar) is an emergent rock star in the field of music. He loves Anjali (Amisha Patel) who has been his class fellow since his college life. Her emotional and physical support is with him to help him becoming a star. His musical career gets boom with the M.T. Music Company (Molani &Tolani) which further boost with the offer from US Company (Angel International Music). It is a planned offer to attract Vicky towards herself by the owner of the company who appears as a college fellow and in loves with Vicky from that time. Fate plays role here and Natasha fails to express her love at right time due to unfavorable circumstances. Now she finds her love and tries her best to win but it’s too late now to win. Vicky has selected Natasha as his life partner. Although in a weak moment he entangles in the bewitching beauty of Natasha and spends intimates moments with her which makes her believe that she could win him but in vain. In the morning typical remorse haunt him and he runs back to his original love (Anjali).

The twist becomes a tornado as Natasha is not ready to spare her love in any case. This tornado tries to destroy Anjali to remove the hindrance from her way and which could ultimately destroy Vicky. But that tornado was due to depression and this depression engulfs Natasha as she commits suicide.

Instead of being authentic story, movie fails to attract the audience. The reason is poor story and characterization. Every character goes to the maximum level of its role which spoils the balance. For example Akshay loves Amisha but after having sex relation with Karishma Kapoor becomes so meek fellow that lose his place to stand and so audience rejects him as a true lover. Natasha first showing the amorous feeling to do anything for her love leaves the fight so abruptly that audience unable to justify her act. And Amisha the goddess of love goes to the extent to forgive the wrongful conduct of her lover which should be not so. It is like a child playing with a balloon full of air is left and let out the air. Now the child will not play with the balloon. In the movie characters are like this balloon without air and have not attraction.

Karishma Kapoor fails to leave a good impression after the gap of three years. The role does not suit her. The film could be better if the ladies play reverse roles. Karishma Kapoor sexy dressing and enticing make up to wear the age of a young girl are total trash. She is experienced actress she should know what should be the demand of her age and style but here she becomes the victim of false illusions.
