Anil Kapoor in MUSAFIR

Musafir is an Indian film released in 2004. It is written by Milap Zaveri and director by Sanjay Gupta. Musafir is an abstract art which is difficult to comprehend by an ordinary mind. Frankly speaking, it is difficult to comprehend by a sensible mind even. The writer narrates the story in a very complicated manner bringing unexpected convolutions and whirls in the lives of all the characters in the film. It is completely different from the conventional Bollywood movies. But it is not better for the success of movie. There should be some logic and story to understand by common folk as cinema goers demand fun and merriments not mind annoyer.

The story is about Lucky (Anil Kapoor) who has a bad name because of his wrong doings. Now he wants to get rid of this life as he needs peace of mind and a family. But luck is not with Lucky and instead of making decision to leave this evil world he is drowning deep into the quagmire. Lara (Koena Mitra) his first love with which he dreamt to settle down his life deceive him, Billa (Sunjay Dutt) impose orphanage on him by killing his partners and further brings doom upon him for the recovery of his money from Goa where Whacko Jacko (Shakti Kapoor) parceling the deal but later Inspector Tiger (Aditya Pancholi) suspects him and he tries to disappear from the scene and that is the time when his eyes falls upon Sam (Sameera Reddy). Sam and Lukka are the next trial for him that pretends more complications as Lukka accidental death makes Sam and Lucky as the murderer.

Out of the frying pan into the fire, lucky entangles in new disaster one after another and once again Billa bump into him. Now he has his money but nature cannot be changed. He is an evil incarnate and he cannot see Lucky or even Tiger to let them without hurting them. To satisfy his nature he kill Tiger in a deal but by chance or at last luck comes for Lucky to give him one more chance, Billa spares Lucky’s life together with Sam. His dream comes true after a nightmare. Now he has money, girl and a smooth way to start a new life. The end of the story is fictional and takes the story away from real life. This loses the impact of authenticity after a long authentic journey of two hours.

Anil kapoor is playing the role of an unlucky guy ironically bears the name of Lucky. Fate plays with him from the very start and there seems no end of his misfortune and adversaries. He is a genuine artist and plays the role with utmost perfection. A man’s life sets when he gets married and his search for a domestic girl is authenticated in the form of Sam though her dressing and incest scenes deny Lucky’s desired girl. Milap zaveri succeeds in sketching Lucky’s role perfectly but rest all the characters are incomplete and show dearth for culmination.
