Advani says that Anand was democrat and supported the democratic forces during tough emergency days of Indra's era. And he actively supported and campaigned the democratic forces during the 1977 parliamentary elections.
Anand also gone on a trip to Lahore in year 1999 with Prime Minister of that time Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Dev Anand was selected in Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 on the advice by Vajpayee government. He has given 65 years of his age to cinema and movie industry. He has a record of working 110 movies of all types. His career is started from the age of black and white cinema screen to the current 2D and 3D cinema. First movie of Anand was 'Hum Ek Hain'.
His anniversity will be celebrated tomorrow on 26th September 2012 through India.
